Clinical Trial Places Cat’s FIP in Remission

A UC Davis clinical trial made news after a 9 month old Bengal receives treatment that sends FIP into remission: https://www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu/news/clinical-trial-places-cats-fip-remission

As previously researched by Dr Niels Pedersen, drugs such as remdesivir and other antivirals are being tested in clinical trials to treat FIP-afflicted cats.

A couple of years after research into new treatments came to a halt during the pandemic, UC Davis resumed clinical trials exploring new therapeutic approaches for FIP.

It's been 7 years since Drogo passed due to complications caused by FIP. I miss my boy. I hope that some day all forms of FIP will be treatable, curable so that no cat parent has to suffer through this.

Research: Pilot study exploring the feline gut microbiota in relation to FCoV/FIP

An interesting study that explores the feline microbiota in response to feline coronoviruses that can cause FIP: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7111766/
